After Graduation, Summer Roberts thought she was going to Brown, she thought her and Seth would be together forever and she thought she'd be best friends with Marissa till they were old and fragile but that all changed after Marissa's accident. It made Summer want to question things, her life mainly. Was living in Newport Beach all that it was cracked up to be? After Marissa's accident Summer felt insecure about her life and was scared of losing someone she really cared about again and she feared that was what would happen with Seth soon enough. So she left, left to one of the only people she knew that was always there for her; Rory Gilmore.

Rory and Summer were cousins, in some way or another. Summer's father was Rory's father's brother's wife's brother. Yeah family was complicated like that, but with two girls that were near enough the same age they got along and always kept in contact over e-mail and text message, but one day when Summer Roberts turned up in Stars Hollow the resisdents didn't know it would change their life's. It took a while for Summer to adjust to the way Stars Hollow was. While she was their she caused a few stirs between a few people, being her usual bratty way she demanded and threw cute tantrums but the resisdents of Stars Hollow were having none of it. Upon her arrival Summer met Dean Forester and she knew that she liked him, but it was definitely too soon after Seth. But Summer knew Dean was off limits as Dean was back with his ex-wfie Lindsey.

But another arrival in Stars Hollow also caused a stir, Jess Mariano. He was back, but this time it wasn't for Rory, he was over her. He was back as he was in desperate need for money and was working his ass off for his uncle Luke. Before a matter of time Jess and Summer met, and that was probably one of the things that was least expected. Jess made her feel special the way Seth had and Summer felt happy again and they started dating. Rory however knew she still had feelings for Jess and tried to tell him but couldn't, but luckily for Rory and unexpeted arrival of a Mr. Ryan Atwood to get Summer to come back to Newport gave Rory that chance.

Ryan had come to try and persuade Summer to come back to Newport as Seth hadn't been the same since she had left, and that Seth had tried to get over her by dating Taylor Townsend, but Ryan knew it wasn't working and that it was Summer that Seth wanted. Summer eventually decided to go back to Newport.

Rory told Jess how she felt about him, but unfortunatley Jess didn't return the feelings as he had fallen in love with Summer and wanted her. Rory heartbroken by this went to Dean for comfort, Dean who definitely had a lot of feelings for Rory still, spilt up with his girlfriend Lindsey thinking he had a chance with Rory again, but Rory didn't think she felt that way about him.

Once Summer arrived back in Newport, she knew she had changed and so had Newport and its residents. Ryan wasn't single, but Summer knew he wasn't over Marissa. Ryan was with none other than Peyton Sawyer who had came to Newport to 'find herself'. Summer's mission was to get Seth back, but no matter how much of denial he was in he wasn't having any of it. He was determined to make himself believe he was in love with Taylor.

A month later however Newport got shaken up by the arrival of Jess Mariano who couldn't live without Summer and had gone to win her back. Summer wasn't so sure though, was it all just a false sense of security?
